Aloha Parents & Guardians,
February has been designated as “Choose Love” month. The Choose Love program is the social/emotional program the K-5 students learn about weekly. The program focuses on four important character values – courage, gratitude, forgiveness and compassion – which cultivates optimism, resilience and personal responsibility. We have also added kindness to the list.
Each day, students will be recognized for showing random acts of these character values. While the students will be rewarded daily/weekly for their actions, we hope to create a lifelong learning opportunity for all of our elementary students.
The week of February 10-14 students will be allowed to wear free dress in celebration of Choose Love month:
Monday – Give a hello – wear YELLOW! OR Have your friends back – wear BLACK!
Tuesday – No school
Wednesday – Don’t be mean – wear GREEN!
Thursday – Be true – wear BLUE!
Friday – Only kind words are said – wear RED!
*Students going out for PE must wear their school shirts if going off campus.
Valentine’s Day is Friday, February 14. We at Kihei Charter School promote a wellness environment for all students and staff. We ask that you do not send you child to school with candy, sticky treats or frosted baked items. If your child would like to bring something for the students in their class, please consider small inexpensive toys, cards or school supplies. Please check with your child’s teacher for other details about the day.
