Aloha Families,
I am currently seeking empty single plastic water bottles for an upcoming science project. If you currently have any in your recycling bins please send them in with your student. I am looking for 24 bottles total.
This week students will be issued their log in cards. You will be able to find these in their purple take home folders. Currently there are about 2 - 3 students who I am still waiting for a password on a particular program so if you notice your student does not have a login card, it is in the works and I will place the card in there purple take home folder as soon as I have it. In addition please let me know if you have any problems while trying to log in, I may have made a mistake while transferring all of the information.
We will begin i-Ready assessment testing this week, if your student has not brought in their headphones yet please make sure they do. Students will be using their headphones weekly as well during math and literacy stations.
Mark your calendars, there will be no school on Monday September 2nd in observance of Labor Day, I hope everyone enjoys the extra day together.
School Pictures will be taken on Friday September 13th. Students are not required to wear their uniform shirts if purchasing pictures. Please make sure to review the student handbook for appropriate school attire. No spaghetti strap shirts are allowed. Please note that our class has PE on Fridays as well in the afternoon, students should be prepared to participate in the class that day as well.
In The Classroom:
Students did a fantastic job last week in math stations. We will continue this week with rounding, estimating and multi-digit addition and subtraction. This week we will learn more about our literacy stations, start our small groups, focus on adjectives and the letter g in cursive. In social studies we will have a geography test and continue forward looking towards early settlers.
Please look below for a copy of this week's spelling words. Please have your student practice at home if additional practice is needed each week.
