Aloha Families,
We will have a math test on Thursday February 14th. This week’s math test will cover division problems, area and perimeter.
This week students will be pairing up with the high school and the middle school for some fun projects. Students will be given an art lesson by a senior, the art will then be placed on display in the cafeteria. Students will also be given the opportunity to watch a puppet show of Aesop’s Fables presented to them by a group of middle school students.
Students are encouraged to work at home weekly using any of our classroom online platforms. Students may use Prodigy to practice math skills as well as Freckle. Freckle is also encouraged to continue practicing literacy skills that we have been reviewing in the classroom. All students have access to the programs, logins will remain the same year round and can be found in their take home folders.
In addition to Prodigy and Freckle I have attached a link on our weebly page (found to the right, under classroom links) to a few good math sites for additional math practice. Several of these sites such as Math Playground include all 3rd grade math skills such as our current unit on area and perimeter.
Reminders:
NO SCHOOL – Friday February 15th and Monday February 18th, I hope all students enjoy the 4 day weekend!
We will hold a Friendship party in our classroom Thursday February 14, 2019. See last week’s post for more details.
We are still collecting materials that could be used to aid students in building their invention models.
This Week At A Glance:
We will complete our math unit on area and perimeter, and hold a test on Thursday. Students will continue to develop and research inventions in science for our classroom invention convention.
