1. Daily Reading – 15 min. of reading
This week you will pick out a chapter book based on your reading level. Each day you will take time to read some of your book. Make sure you stop and ask for help with any words you may not understand. Make sure to re-read passages for reading comprehension. If you do not have a book at home that interests you try visiting the library for additional options. Once you have selected a book, please make sure that you are bringing your book with you to class each day as well.
2. IXL Math – P.1, try and get at least 20 correct in a row!
Today in class I modeled the IXL program and covered the expectations. Review the handout with your parents that was sent home today in order to log in and begin using the program.
3. Typing Club – 15 min. of active typing
Today in class I modeled the Typing Club program and covered the expectations. Review the handout with your parents that was sent home today in order to log in and begin using the program.

Today in class I modeled the iReady program as well as the expectations for the diagnostic test. Review the handout with your parents that was sent home today before beginning. Parents please remember not to assist your student during the test.

Optional Weekly Assignments
1. ELA - Read a non-fiction book of choice, once you have read your book create a mini-poster or comic strip with illustrations and at least 4 facts about what you learned from the book. Poster and or comic strips should include color and be presented in your best handwriting.
2. ELA – Play the game HERE to review nouns. You may choose the speed of your game, or play a few times on different speeds.
3. Science – Watch, The Nature of Science video HERE, think about and discuss with someone is your house some questions you would like to find answers about. Write down some of the questions you come up with and then circle the question you are most passionate about discovering the answer.
4. STEAM - Design an arcade game out of cardboard. Bring your game to class to share with Ms. Crystal and your friends during break.
