Monday: Virtual
Tomorrow will be our last spelling test! Please first make a Silly Spelling Story using all 21 words from Week 31. Write this using your best handwriting in your journal.
Then, go to this link that has all the words we spelled this year! Pick the hardest word for you from each week through week 31 and write it once in your journal in any fun, artistic, creative style. Just write the word in a fun way! This is to help you study because we will be having a fun Spelling Bee next Tuesday!
After, go to your HSB doc and decide what THREE topics you will want to write about for your Historic Site on the top of your Doc. Write them down and try to find a few notes about your topic. For example, I am doing Kalaupapa, so I will write about (1) leprosy, (2) the building and beginning of Kalaupapa Leprosy Colony, and (3) Kalaupapa today. Some good ideas for you to focus on are:
- When, how, and why your site was built/formed
- Historic events that occurred at your site
- Any Hawaiian myths or legends that relate to your site
- What your site is like today
We will write our essays in class on Friday as a final. You will be able to use any notes and I will have computers for you to us your doc so write as many notes as you need to write a 5-paragraph essay!
With the rest of your time, build your historic site! Spend a lot of time making something you are proud of! These will be due next Tuesday, May 24th so that we can show them for exhibitions on May 26th!
