There will be NO SCHOOL on Wednesday, February 15th due to island-wide Institute Day for teachers as well as Monday, February 20th for Presidents Day.
Finally, my last day will be Thursday, February 9th. The baby is due on February 18th but because I will be delivering on Oahu, I will have to go there earlier. I will miss this class so much but I will be checking my emails occasionally and will try to come to Exhibition!
Homework this week: 60 minutes of iReady READING
Monday, Virtual
Today you have 4 assignments.
First, we will be going over topics we haven’t covered yet this year because tomorrow NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress) will be coming to test all 4th graders in either Math or Language Arts. This will be a good opportunity to familiarize yourself with lessons that will be covered later this semester. We will work on these topics on IXL (to get full credit, 5/5, today, you need a SmartScore of only 70, but try to master each if you can!).
Math: N.2, O1, P.1, V.1, Y.1, AA.1
Language Arts: ZZ.1, DDD.2, FFF.3, iii.1
***10 assignments, 6 from Math, 4 from Language arts, worth 50 points. This should take you around 3 hours to complete!
Next, make your own Silly Spelling Story on your SSS Google Doc. This may be our hardest spelling test yet so try to use ALL the words. You WILL need to look up some of the words, use THIS dictionary and be sure to listen to the US pronunciations. Title and date your story. Remember that YOU should be typing it yourself to practice! SHARE the doc with me AGAIN by retyping my email and sending so that I can see what you've written!

HERE are some articles other students read and enjoyed. Feel free to add any article you enjoyed to this list! Write the title and a short description.
Last, write a quick email thanking Ms. Hogan’s class in Chicago (my cousin remember?!) for the fun and informative Mystery Skype we did on Friday, January 20th. Use THIS doc to see who you should address your letter to and then send the email to me and I will send them all to Ms. Hogan.
With any remaining time, do as much Kid Biz as you can! The lexile levels will change this week and I am eager to see how you all did! You may also work on your Makahiki game speeches and getting supplies together. We will present and play next week! Don’t forget to study for your spelling test and start your iReady weekly assignment!
