Homework this week: Please complete 60 minutes of iReady READING, due Sunday, October 30th.
Monday, Virtual
Today you have 5 assignments. Each assignment should take about 1 hour.
First, write your My Fall Break essay using the worksheet from Friday on lined paper. Don’t forget to:
- WRITE DOUBLE SPACED (very important, see my example)
- Put a title on the top of your page
- Indent each new paragraph
- Write in correct paragraph form, with 4 paragraphs (intro, body 1, body 2, conclusion)
- Do NOT include anything that is written in italics (like instructions and paragraph types) but DO include the sentence starters that I typed (like “My Fall Break was…” etc)
- Write clearly and with you best handwriting and check your spelling.
Then, fill out the Types of Lava worksheet from Friday. Go to THIS website and read about Pele’s Tears, Lava Bombs, and Green Sand. Then, in your OWN words, explain about each type of lava on the worksheet. Write at least three descriptive sentences for each.
*** Do NOT FORGET to bring to school the Lava Worksheet, the Fall Break worksheet, AND your Fall Break essay rough draft!!! You WILL be marked down for forgetting these three things!
Third, go to Kiddle.co OR Wikipedia.org and search for the volcano that you chose from our shared google Doc HERE. Read about the history of your volcano’s creation and eruptions and any information that you can find. Then, on the doc, add a sentence about an interesting fact that you found into the new column. Try to find a fact that has a lot of information because you will later write an essay about your volcano!
*** If you chose the same volcano as someone else, I wrote a comment next to your name and you will need to change it (I have a timestamp so I know who did it first). The website is https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volcano and look under "Some Volcanoes" section.
Fourth, go to this NEW shared doc and and fill out the table next to your class number about your favorite author. If you can, choose someone that is alive so that we can send a letter to them!
Last, complete Y.1, about adjectives, on IXL Language Arts!
Don’t forget to study your spelling words! Here they are:

- grammar
