We will still be doing our spelling tests on Fridays and students will still be required to have a three-ring binder with dividers (bring on Wednesday, we will play an organizing game). However, we will not be going to the pool on Thursdays for the time being because the pool is closed. For now, Thursdays will be in-class days.
I’d like to tell you all a little bit more about myself. I graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 2010 with a degree in English. I then worked as a kids’ club leader at a resort in Saipan, where I met my husband. We moved to his home country of Korea and I taught English and Kindergarten for almost three years. I moved to Maui last December and quickly got a job as an EA at KCS middle school. I enjoyed my position there but when Ms. Leslie came to me with the EA position at the elementary school, I jumped on it! I love watching young minds change and grow and I have the energy and warmth that works so well with elementary school students. I’m currently working on a licensure program and this class will be my student teaching experience. I’m so happy to start with such amazing, gifted, and fun kids! Thank you for being patient and open to this new change! We're in for a great semester!
Please feel free to email me at [email protected] or call or text me at (808)344-3049.

This week at school:
WEDNESDAY, 6th, 8:55-1:30:
We will begin school on Wednesday with a day of setting up rules and procedures as well as 5 minute one-on-one informal conferences. Please think about what goals you want to set for yourself for the Spring semester as well as your strengths and weaknesses. We will NOT go out in the field but we will play some games so dress accordingly: shoes, water bottle, sunscreen!
Homework: Finish self evaluation and goals worksheet with parents. Due Thursday.
THURSDAY, 7TH: 12:00-2:35:
Morning Virtual: Please complete 45 minutes (at least 2 full lessons) of Math iReady lessons. This is important because we will be assessing our math abilities in class.
Use this timer to stay on task for the full 45 minutes!
In class: We will take a short math assessment so that I can see what students have mastered and what still needs to be worked on. We will also do an art project, Making Snowflakes, so if you have any scissors and/or origami paper, you may bring them in.
FRIDAY, 8TH: 8:55-2:35
In class: We will correct our assessment from Thursday, take our spelling pretest, and begin to talk about our big book report projects. If you already know of a book you'd like to read, please feel free to bring it in but this is not necessary. Books will be required by next Thursday (Jan 14th) but we will go to the library on the Wednesday before.
Homework: Please complete 45 minutes (at least 1 full lesson) of Reading iReady lessons.
Use this timer to stay on task for the full 45 minutes!
