Aloha Fourth Grade families,
We hope you are doing well. Please be checking Class Dojo and have your students check Google Classrooms to stay updated on how the rest of the year is going to look. We miss you all! Ms. Bridget and Ms. Elyssa Welcome to Second Quarter! Here are some important dates to keep in mind. Please check Class Dojo for class specific information and fun photos!
Here are some important dates for the quarter:
Hello families!
Be sure you have signed up for ClassDojo to stay up to date on announcements, photos, and more! Please check Class Dojo at least a few times a week for important updates and lots of class photos!
We are having a great time learning from the C Minor foundation. Photos will be posted there. The lunch menu is linked on the Schoolwide Announcements page. There is no school February 15th and 18th for an inservice day and Presidents' Day. Thanks for all your hard work last month! We mastered multi-digit multiplication, dissected plants, learned adaptations and life cycles, started learning about life on the ahupua'a, and finished our class book! Just a reminder that Wednesday’s pickup time is at 1:15.
Don’t forget about the important virtual activities below. 1. reflexmath.com/go Try for a green light. It’s important to log-in and try for the green light at least three days a week. Once our computers are in the classroom, you will have opportunities to practice in class. 2. On KidBiz, complete two activities per week. It is a great way to improve your reading! Please read everyday and have a book in class for silent reading this week! Starting this month, we will participate in the BookIt! Program. This is a great reading program where students can earn personal pizzas from Pizza Hut! To earn a reward for October, please read at least 1 chapter book and then send Ms. Bridget an email explaining one story element from your book in a few sentences. This is due October 31st.
We had some issues with the A/C last Thursday and Friday. We are hoping it will be fixed for this week, but if the A/C is out, we will find a shady place to learn outside. Please come prepared with water and sun protection this week as we may be spending more time outside.
SCHOOL IS CLOSED WEDNESDAY, 9/12. However, students will be sent home with Thursday's virtual for Social Studies, Polynesian Triangle Webquest. If you want to get ahead (and have less work for later!), please work on it when you can. We will also have Spelling Test 3 on Friday so study for that. Last, PowerSchool is updated so you can check your grades and any missing work there. Your login info is on your slip. Thanks, stay safe!
In class Wednesday we handed out two forms for parents:
We also passed out planners. Students need to write their virtual assignments each morning (in as few words as possible) and check off assignments as they finish. This will help keep students focused and on top of any missing assignments. Please start today. This Wednesday, we will take our school vans to Maalaea Harbor for the voyaging canoe field trip. Drop off and pick up will remain the same: 12 and 2:30 at the middle school. Bring water, snack, and sun protection. You do not need your backpack. Please pay for the field trip (at the front desk) and return your waivers (to the teachers) by today! If we do not have your waiver (and your emergency packet), you will not be allowed to join this field trip.
Virtual is the same as last Wed, Thur, Fri but please read it carefully. The most important assignments are the iReady reading and math tests. These MUST be completed by the end of the week. Students cannot get any help and will need a quiet place to work on a computer, with paper and a pencil, for up to an hour or so. Students should finish 1 test pr day in one sitting. If you finished all the virtual from last week, read your book, finish your spelling handout and perfect your spelling, and try to learn something new on your own! Email us about what you learned! Plan on meeting everyday 12:00 - 2:30 at the middle school building until something changes. We will keep you posted with any information that we receive. Thank you all for being so patient. Lastly, families, if you have any talents or skills (particularly with classroom design) you'd like to share with the class, please reach out to us! We're working on starting a project and need all the help we can get! |
