This Wednesday we will learn even more about native Hawaiian plants at The Maui Farm. There is a waiver that needs to be signed, which I will send home tomorrow and will need to be back at school on Wednesday. This is VERY important as students cannot come unless the waivers are turned in so please check backpacks for this on Tuesday, sign it, and put it right back in. Also, they asked for a suggested donation of $5 so if you’d like to donate, your student can bring $5 to class on Wednesday and give the money directly to them. Parents, thank you for providing items from the Wish List! I have everything we need now!
This week’s homework: 60 minutes of iReady MATH.
Monday, Virtual
Today you have 5 assignments.
First, you will learn some terms on erosion and weathering. Study THESE flash cards, then when you know them all, click on the top to play the Scatter AND Gravity (use Easy and Definition settings) games. It’s best to write notes to help you with these games, especially Gravity. These will be the terms on our upcoming test so try your best! Spend about an hour doing this.
Then, read THIS short article about the erosion that caused major damage at ‘Iao Valley!
Third, on IXL Language Arts, complete A1, A2, and A3. These lessons are fairly easy and are about types of sentences and simple and compound sentences. Make sure you are logged in and get a SmartScore of at least 70.
-If you're having trouble, just get one wrong then read the Explanation carefully and you will understand!!
Fourth, on your own SSS doc, which you can find by searching your list of Docs by clicking HERE, write another Silly Spelling Story using ALL your spelling words from tomorrow’s test. Practice writing compound sentences, which you learned from IXL. For an extra challenge, see if you can write about either Hawaiian history or erosion! SHARE it with me when you finish.
