Monday, Virtual
Today you have four assignments.
I forgot to add that you will need to complete the MPR #4 math handout from Thursday and look over MPR #3 that was given back to you on Thursday. We will take a test tomorrow. Mahalo!
You will start by creating your own Google Doc. When you are signed in to your kiheicharter.org account, click here, then click “Blank” to create a new Doc. At the top left, title your document, “Your First Name Math iReady.” Then, under the title, click Insert and then Table and make a 3 x 20 table. On the top of the columns of your table, type "Date", "Lesson Name", and "Example of what I learned". HERE is my example. You can copy and paste my table to your Doc (much easier!). Last, click on the top right blue button that says share and email it to me.
- This Doc will help you remember everything you’ve learned on iReady. When you complete a lesson on iReady math, write down the date, then the name of the lesson, and make a short example of what you learned (like "4x6=24" or “I learned that 7 is a prime number.”) This Doc is more for you than me but it will help me understand what you are working on and what you are struggling with.
- This is my first time creating a Doc for iReady so we will see how it goes together! But I do think it is a good idea to help you soak in everything you’ve learned. You can email me or chat on MY doc if you need help creating your own doc. You can do it!
Second, make another new Google Doc and title it “Your First Name Olympic Sports.” Write a two paragraph essay about the similarities and differences between the two sports you chose on Thursday. You do not need to write an introduction or conclusion paragraph. Each paragraph should have at least 5 sentences, starting with a topic sentence and ending with a transition sentence. Don’t forget to check your spelling and indent your first line in each paragraph! Then, share it with me!
Next, check out these short CNN videos (ignore the ads) about fossils HERE and HERE! I know a lot of you expressed wanting to become paleontologists or archaeologists and that’s great because there is more to discover! Just this weekend, two different ancient fossils were found in America, a mammoth AND a tyrannosaurus rex!!!
Last, watch these three videos about the rock cycle:While you are watching, think about the following questions and then after, answer them on our Google Classroom.
- What is the name for a scientist who studies rocks?
- What are the three types of rocks?
- Explain the sedimentary rock cycle.
- What other interesting facts did you learn about rocks?
With any remaining time, study your spelling words:
- costume
- swift
- cotton
- imitate
- suddenly
- building
- kitchen
- cousin
- window
- shock
- fling
- crunch
- shrimp
- switch
- fudge
- prompt
- olive
- follower
- octopus
- important
- twister
- plump
- stomp
- chimpanzee
- obstacle
