Thank you all for working so hard on your essays. They are all spectacular and now I really can't wait to see your builds! Please read this entire post carefully to find out the schedule for our last week.
Monday, Virtual
First, we will work on our Dear Mr. Henshaw scripts. Find your name and partners and use the Doc I've made for you below. Reread the pages you are assigned and write a one-page script about the most important part in your group's section. Think about how Leigh and the other characters would act in the scene. Leigh may or may not need to write a letter in your scene but you do not have to just have him sitting there writing. See my example HERE and read all the comments. You can have a narrator but don't need one. This is a very free assignment. Write the parts but don't worry about the actors; you will act out your part during Exhibitions and can use more actors if needed. You may also want to make small props to add to our performance! We will practice tomorrow. I am available through email if you need help! I also left short notes on your Docs to help you get started.
- Pg. 1-13 Lily, Taylor
- Pg. 31-40 Eli, Ethan, Lionel
- Pg. 40-54 Kaitlin, Haydyn, Kaylee
- Pg. 55-72 Maia, Rachel
- Pg. 73-87 Sua, Teela, Aliyah
- Pg. 89-104 Emily, Emily
- Pg. 104-123 Emma, Joli, Natalya
- Pg. 125-134 Reagan, Josh
Then, practice your Spelling Bee Words.
Finally, try to memorize Lava and Happy. We will sing these songs at Exhibitions and it will look much better without papers! Last, in your journal, write a couple sentences about what you are happy about learning or doing this past year. We will say these before we sing!
Tomorrow the builds are due! Please finish them today and bring them tomorrow! I am so excited to see them! Also, if you didn't get a chance to make a droodle on Friday, please do that today. Try to use only one color, a marker, and write in pencil what you thought it was. Be creative and even a little vague! If you want to make another one, you can do so.
Tuesday, 8:55-2:35
Historic Site Builds due! Also bring in any parts to your biomes games and book reports! Please make sure to return the DMH books and check that you have your Brain Wars graph to display. We will also have a fun Spelling Bee.
Wednesday, 8:55-1:30
Exhibitions practice. Learn those songs!
Thursday, 9:00-11:00
Exhibitions! Students should arrive by 9:00 to prepare. Parents are welcome at 10:00 and exhibitions will end at 11:00. Students will be bringing home any projects and art after so expect a short cleanup after 11:00.
Friday, 9:00-11:00
We will have a beach day at Maui Sunset (Waipuilani) Park, just a block north of St. Theresa's. Please drop off your student there at 9:00. Students do not need to wear a swimsuit but should wear their school shirt, sun protection, and bring a water and snack. You may stay and help with the games if you want. Pick up will be at the park at 11:00. DO NOT take your student to St. Theresa's. I will have more info at Exhibitions!
