Today you have 3 assignments.
- Read Chapter 9 of Island of the Blue Dolphins HERE (if the link doesn’t work just google Island of the Blue Dolphins ebook) then plan your comic page three (chapters 7-9) in your journal. Follow these instructions for each chapter/comic strip:
- Chapter 7:(Use the quote and summary we found together below)
-- Quote: At that moment I walked across the deck and, though many hands tried to hold me back, flung myself into the sea.
-- Summary: The Ghalas-at tribe boards the white boat, however Karana notices that Ramo is not on board. Then she sees him on the island so she dives off the boat.
-- Sketch your picture idea.
- Chapter 8:
-- Review what I read to you yesterday and find a good quote (REMEMBER it does NOT have to be words that are spoken, just a sentence that explains what happens in the author’s own words.) and write a summary of the chapter (use your own words). Then sketch your picture.
- Chapter 9:
-- Read it then find a quote and write a summary then sketch your picture.
