Monday, Virtual
Today you have THREE assignments:
Thanks for the great discussion about our biomes and excellent informative text identification skills on Friday! Today, as practice for the upcoming SBAC test, you will research and then write a paragraph about an animal adaption.
Watch this video about biological evolution, which is a deeper look at animal adaptation! Then, research an animal by typing “x (any animal) adaptation” or just "animal adaptations" in Kiddle.co (the kids version of Google!).
- Type your paragraph here. Type below your class number. Typing together on the same Doc will help us all learn about many animals! Try to choose different animals! Remember you must be logged in to your KCS account to access the Doc. Please only use the chat feature to ask me questions.
- Write a six sentence paragraph. Include an introduction sentence and conclusion sentence. See my example on the Doc.
Then, send me your own Doc of your Silly Spelling Stories, like we did last week! Write a story using ALL of week 24’s spelling words.
That’s a lot of typing! You’re sure to improve your typing today! Last, complete IXL’s lesson S2, adding fractions with unlike denominators. You WILL need a piece of scratch paper for this (reuse something!). Get a Smart Score of at least 70.
If you have more time, check out the SBAC practice tests below.
If you have not completed your NoRedInk, please finish today. To prepare for 5th grade, after Spring Break, late work will automatically lose one point.
Don’t forget to read everyday and fill out your reading log. You can bring it in only on Wednesdays.
Tuesday, 8:55-2:35
In class, we will practice the SBAC English Language Arts tests. They are the Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) and Performance Task (PT). CAT is the test we started last week. It is a multiple choice test with some task based question. Question 1 is so similar to the virtual assignment! PT is You can practice at home using this link (Grade 4 ELA CAT and/or PT Practice Test). Click Training and Practice tests.
