Aloha Families,
The awaited move is finally here! I know that everyone is very excited about the move and getting into a normal schedule. Please continue to check the weebly daily as I will continue to use this as our primary communication source for classroom news and information.
Tomorrow, Monday October 22, 2018 we will have the same schedule that we have had in weeks past, meeting in the same location from 9:00am – 11:30am. In addition we will be hosting a school wide open house to tour the new facility from 3:30pm – 5:30pm. During this time families may view the facility, our classroom is located on the 2nd floor, room 205. I look forward to seeing everyone during this time.
Since this week will be such a change, we will not have homework at all this week. Having the students adjust from 2.5 hours to 6 hours of school a day will be enough. I would like to continue to encourage nightly reading in order for all students to earn a pizza through the Book It Program. If students wish they may still log into either Typing Club or Prodigy for practice.
Please read the following information regarding school hours and procedures.
Elementary School Hours:
School will be from 8:15 am-2:15 pm daily with early dismissal on Wednesdays at 1:15 pm.
School Breakfasts and Lunches:
School breakfast will be available starting at 7:40 am. The cost is $2.00. School lunches will be available for your child to purchase as well. The cost is $4.00. You can pay at the main office as well as sign up for free and or reduced lunch.
Drop Off at the New School:
Elementary students should be dropped off in front of the school. Parents must NOT park in drop off lane.
Elementary students will line up on the mauka (east) side of the school. Students will line up by grade level and be escorted to their class by teachers or EA’s. If your child is late to school, you must take them to the front office to be signed in. Office staff will then escort them to class.
Pick Up:
Parents will pick their students up where they were dropped off in the morning. Students will be waiting in the area they were dropped off.
After School Care for K-3:
Free after school care will be available until 3:45 daily. If you plan to have your child attend after school care, please let me know via email ASAP so I can direct them to the right location.
Thank you so much for your patience from the start of the year to now, and in the weeks to come as we transition into the new facility. If you have any questions please let me know.
