Aloha Families,
We have made it through the first week in our new building! Students did great with the transitions as well as their first quiz regarding their times tales!
Please make sure that everyone is keeping up with their Book It Program reading. Remember Octobers Goal is to read for at least 8 hours for the month. As a reminder this can be accomplished if students read for at least 20 min. a day, however some weekends will be needed as well. Let’s keep reading and earn those pizzas!Students should turn forms in on Thursday November 1, 2018, WITH A PARENT SIGNATURE.
This Week At A Glance:
This week students will continue to work on learning their multiplication thru the Times Tales program, students are doing a great job learning make sure to ask your student about the tales.
We will also begin working on cursive this week, most students enjoy this and find it to be a fun activity.
In reading students will continue learning about types of questions and will learn about “the author and me” questions. These questions require students to combine what they already know with what they’ve read in the text. Therefore, the primary focus of this week will be inferencing and drawing conclusions.
For writing students will continue to learn and work on their first personal narrative essay.
We will also continue in science with the four seasons and the characteristics of each. Students began working in groups last week to compose a skit, which they will present to the class this week. After presentations students will begin to focus on differences between weather and severe weather leading us then into the different types of climates.
