Aloha Families,
We have made it to the last week of school! As a reminder the last day of school is Thursday May 30th with early release at 11:30am, NO AFTERCARE OR KYC TRANSPORTATION THAT DAY.
Field Day is tomorrow morning from 8:30 – 10:30 am. We are still looking for anyone able to help out, if you are free come on out and support all of the wonderful elementary students.
On Friday we completed our science project with our shirts we learned that Pigments are molecules that give things color. The pigments in permanent markers are trapped in ink compounds that are insoluble in water, which means that they won’t dissolve in water. However, if you add a solvent, like rubbing alcohol, to permanent markers, it dissolves the ink.
I took home all shirts over the long weekend, heat set them and washed and dried them all. Students are encouraged to wear their shirts tomorrow for field day! Some shirts have an orange/pink hue, we learned that using the red sharpies caused this and we have made notes as a class for any additional science projects like this red should not be used, that’s science!
Wednesday afternoon we will be having a teach the teacher day! And Thursday we will have our in classroom awards celebration!
If you have any questions about this week please feel free to reach out to me, I have had an amazing time getting to know all of the students and I hope everyone has the best summer break!
