Student Led Conference
Our class will be participating in a student led conference. A student led conference is a conference with parents led by your student. I will serve as a facilitator in the conference process. Your student will lead you through a discussion of their work and established academic and social goals. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to work on their 21st century skills!
Students will be getting ready through classroom activities over the course of the next 2 weeks for the conference and will receive an overall 21st century skill grade for their hard work.
Because of this, YOUR STUDENT MUST COME WITH YOU AND BE PRESENT FOR YOUR SCHEDULED CONFERENCE TIME.
All conference slots are on a first come first serve basis and will ONLY be held on the provided conference days during that week. Please follow the link below to sign up for the best day and time for your students conference. I have also sent this message and link via email for all to sign up.

In The Classroom:
We have completed going through each multiplication table. We have learned several tips in tricks in addition to our times tales and now students will focus on continued learning and fluency of their multiplication tables for the rest of the year. This week students will look at the distributive and associative properties of multiplication while we review all multiplication tables, practicing for speed and fluency.
We will continue reading our classroom book The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate and students will continue gathering gorilla research. This week we will begin to work on our book pages leading us to our final steps of putting our books together.
Throughout the week students will be learning about descriptive writing as well, this will allow students to practice adding additional details to their writing pieces.
At Home:
Please make sure students read for at least 20 min. a day, and track the information on their Book It tracking forms.
Please have your students practice multiplication at home via flashcards and online games.
Practice spelling words: Please have students study as needed, please remember students are able to practice via the online program found at https://www.spellingcity.com/ if they would like.
