Aloha Parents
I hope that you are all well! I’ve missed seeing each student daily at school! This week we will begin our virtual enrichment lessons. I will be tracking your student’s online activity, so I may check in with students and families as needed.
All login information and passwords have been updated and emailed out to each of you individually. If you have not signed your student up for our Google Classroom please do so, our Google Classroom code is 6wq2x2i. All weekly enrichment assignments will be posted to our Google Classroom page.
We’re going to start off easier this week, our goal is to become comfortable with virtual learning and we will add on in the upcoming week(s). Remember programs like iReady starts at the beginning of your student’s level and gets into newer/harder concepts as your student succeeds and passes the levels.
If you are looking for more work this week, I have posted a few additional optional enrichment activities as well as linked several additional learning websites to explore on our classrooms Symbaloo. Please click HERE and bookmark our classroom Symballo page if you have not already.
In order to split education time between online (computer, phone, ipad….) and other activities I’ve created classroom choice boards. On each choice board your student can find additional online activities, paper/pencil activities as well as creative and game based options all aligned to our classrooms curriculum. This will allow your student to choose what is best for your home learning routine.
In The At Home Classroom This Week:
This week our biggest goal is to become comfortable with at home learning by creating routines that work best for your student and your family.
For Math in addition to the personalized math found in i-Ready this week students will be given the opportunity to review and refresh a few skills I noted needed in the classroom. These skills this week include time, money, 3 to 4 digit subtraction with borrowing as well as continued multiplication practice!
In language arts students will engage in personalized material through i-Ready as well as continued writing practice with a few writing prompts.I have also linked a few books to our classroom learning to enhance our before spring break learning and discussions on adaptations of animals.
In addition you will notice I have created a STEAM Break choice board to get students thinking deeper as well as engaged in hands-on learning!
