Dear First-Grade ‘Ohana,
This week KCS is hosting a virtual talent show. Please see the FlipGrid for daily options and to share your talents!
I have emailed everybody this week’s calendar of activities. We are continuing to take daily attendance for virtual work. Please make sure your child does the work provided in the calendar to get marked present for attendance, especially IXL, Smarty Ants and Flip Grid responses, as well as emailing me pics of journal entries. We will also continue to mark work as collected, missing or incomplete in PowerSchool. Please try your best to keep up with the daily assignments, and let me know if you have any questions. As we continue to work with IXL as part of our distance-learning program, I wanted to share with you that if your child is trying to answer a question they don’t understand, IXL has added two new sections to help students better understand the content that I hope will help with any challenges. I am also always available to meet via Google Hangout or Meet to help with any work as needed.
This week we will be reading a book called Crocodiles and Alligators by Gail Gibbons and the children will be finding out about these animals through the activities this week. I have also included a fun, gratitude scavenger hunt for Friday!
I look forward to meeting with the children on Google Meet on Friday! Please check your email for your time from me. This week we will be discussing what we learned about crocodiles and alligators. Please come prepared by making sure you have read the book and done the assignments
Aloha, Ms. Emily
