Important Field Day Announcements
September is going to be a great month for field days! We have some great trips planned with local communities.
September 14th: We will go to the Maui Nui Botanical Garden to learn about native plants, collect and process seeds, and help in their gardens. Wear something you can garden in; we will get a little dirty! We will be back on campus for lunch. This trip does cost $2 per student. You will have to pay this at the front desk of the middle school (last building in the Lipoa center) as soon as possible. Please don't send the money to the elementary school, I cannot accept money. Please email me when you have paid.
September 16th (Friday): We will go to Maui Arts and Cultural Center to see Mai Poina: The Overthrow. This is a 1 hour performance about the last four days of the Hawaiian Kingdom. We are very fortunate to be able to see this play for free from 10-11 on that Friday. We will return to school for lunch.
September 21st: This Wednesday we will be going to The Maui Farm to learn even more about native plants, especially canoe plants, which Polynesians brought to Hawaii! This field trip is free, however they asked for a suggested donation of $5. If you would like to donate to this great little farm, your student can bring money with them on the 21st and give it to the workers on the farm. There is a waiver you need to sign, which I will send home soon. Please bring this back as soon as it due.
So! Please pay the $2 at the middle school and be on the lookout for a waiver! Thank you!
Thursday Morning Virtual
Today, you only have one assignment. You all worked so hard on Monday that you will have an easier day today!
Go HERE and follow along to learn about the elements of a story in Cinderella. First listen to the story, then go through each section (Setting, Characters, Sequence, Exposition, Conflict, Climax, Resolution) until you get to the quiz. When you finish the quiz, email me your results with a short description of any question you may have missed.
If you didn't bring in your My Voyage paper, please copy your answers onto that page and bring it in everyday!
If you haven't finished all the IXL assignments from Monday and last week, please do that today. I will grade them today. If you like, you can also add more words to your Hawaiian Nouns doc and read a book! See you at 12:00!
